Architects’ Projects Exhibition
Architecture is that which inspires people while serving the function for which the building is intended.
In recent years there has been a renewed effort by several Maltese architects to strive for quality. The number of notable buildings which provide a positive experience is increasing.
The exhibition presents examples of architecture in Malta, where the efforts of the architect and his team have produced quality architecture worthy of note. It is an opportunity to Maltese architects to present their work to colleagues and to a wider public.
The exhibition is a tribute to creativity and innovation in design and the architects’ ability to translate the client’s requirements into a functional and attractive design. The exhibition is also a tribute to visionary clients who were able reconcile their requirements of the development with the need to make a tangible contribution to Malta’s urban fabric.

Designs ‘05
Designs, an annual event organised by SACES, is aimed at giving the students reading the BE&A (Hons) course the opportunity to exhibit their work, which reflects the effort they put in throughout the year, and to bring it to the attention of the general public. This year Designs will take place during Time for Architecture, and will form part of a larger, more outstanding exhibition, bringing together works presented by established Maltese architects and students.
During the summer months the students were given the chance to prepare and add some final touches to their works, which they then submitted to the Saces committee. The various projects ranging from first year work to fifth year thesis projects were judged by a panel of distinguished Architects from the local scene, appointed by the SACES committee. The best projects were chosen and set up for this year’s exhibition, ensuring the high standard always achieved throughout Designs.
